Glossary#
List of terms used throughout this documentation, in alphabetical order.
- Collaborator
- The membership of a person in a space. Comes with specific access rights (read, write).
- Invitee
- A person that has been invited to join a space.
- Inviter
- A person who allows other persons to join a space.
- Metadata
- Supplemental data of an object. Typically contains filename, path information, content-type, size, version information, timestamps.
- Object
- Data construct, stored in a space. Consists of metadata and payload.
- Organization
- An entity representing a company or group. An organization can enter into a contractual relationship with the service provider, provide billing information, etc. Administrative functions enable control over the collaborated data in owned spaces.
- Payload
- The "binary large object" data part of an object.
- Person
- Represents a user of the service, typically a human person. The person has multiple data under his control, such as name, avatar, email addresses, etc.
- Principal
- An authenticated person.
- Privilege
- Controls how a space can be used.
- Space
- An area of collaboration, typically focussed around a specific topic or project. A space has a name, avatar, description. A space is owned by an organization. Contains an arbitrary number of objects.
