Service Restrictions#

The functionality of spaces can be restricted based on the plan an organization is on.

Plan management is implemented within Skalio ID, and changes are communicated between the applications via the message broker. It is discouraged to make changes in the database of Spaces directly, since they can be overwritten by Skalio ID.

Quota#

An organization is allowed to use a specific amount of storage space within all its spaces. While the cumulated storage volume of all spaces exceeds the purchased quota, no new uploads are possible. Collaborators can still download files and manage all other aspects of the spaces. Note: files moved into the trash of a space still count towards its used storage, until they are purged from trash.

For performance reasons, the storage space calculation is performed at regular intervals, but independent of the upload and purge-trash operations. This results in the possibility of overspending quota for a short period of time. Similarly, the results of purging the trash may not be visible immediately.
