Glossary#
List of terms used throughout this documentation, in alphabetical order.
- Access Token
- A cryptographically signed, time-limited key, granting access to resources of a specific service.
- Contract
- A commercial agreement to use a plan, signed between the service provider and an organization.
- Legal Document
- A contractual document that is agreed to between the service provider and the organization.
- ID Token
- A cryptographically signed, strong, publicly verifiable identifier of an authenticated person. Has a time-limited validity. May contain information about privileges the person has on an organization.
- Organization
- An entity representing a company or group. An organization can enter into a contractual relationship with the service provider, provide billing information, etc. Administrative functions enable control over the collaborated data in owned spaces.
- Person
- Represents a user of the service, typically a human person. The person has multiple data under his control, such as name, avatar, email addresses, etc.
- Plan
- A commercial product, feature set, capacity limitation.
- Principal
- An authenticated person.
- Organization member
- The membership of a person in an organization. Grants privileges according to the given roles.
- UID
- Unique identifier. A short string that points to an entity.
- UID Token
- A short, cryptographically signed, publicly verifiable identifier of a person. Contains only the UID.
